NEXT CONCERT SAT 31st MARCH 2012

ST MARY’S PRIORY CHURCH ABERGAVENNY  AT 7.30PM   

TICKETS £10

·         Remember that we have a  morning workshop on Sat 25th February.

 

·         On Thursday 29th March the  rehearsal will be at St Mary’s at 7pm  

 

·         On Saturday 31st March  there will be an afternoon rehearsal in the Church. Roger will confirm the times nearer the date.

 

·         We need to be back at the church, meeting in the upstairs music room at 7pm. 

 

·         Concert Dress -as usual –  Ladies – all black and  Gentlemen – black dinner suit, white shirt and black bow tie.  

 

HEALTHY SOUNDS

A small group (12 -15) will be needed to sing at Pontypool Hospital on Wednesday 14th March from 2 – 3pm. We will sing some light music so that the patients can join in . We have applied for a Healthy Sounds grant which will bring in £200 for Choir Funds. Thank you to those who sang at the hospital in December, we recently received a £200 cheque for that session.

   

AGM

The AGM will be held at 7.00pm on Thursday 31st May 2012 . We need a new Chair as Gill Morgan will be standing down from the committee after many years of service to the choir. New committee members would be very welcome and if you are interested then do chat to your Section  Rep or any current committee member.

 

JUBILEE CELEBRATION

On the morning of Saturday 2nd June we have been invited to sing an item in the Brewery Yard as part of Abergavenny Town Council’s Jubilee Celebration . We will probably sing Zadok the Priest. Please put this date in your diary.

 

CORNWALL TOUR

Frank Holt is busy planning the arrangements for our trip to Falmouth for the weekend of 6th July. We will be doing 2 concerts -  in St Ives on Saturday and in Falmouth on Sunday afternoon. We will be singing Hiawatha and some items from European Sacred Music.

 

ELIJAH  

Saturday 3rd November 2012  7.30pm at St Mary’s Priory Church Abergavenny.

Soloists have been booked and we will be accompanied by the Musical and Amicable Society. It should be a great concert.
