| Margaret Witts ~ Soprano
Margaret was born in London, spending childhood in London and Wales. Started learning the piano at the age of seven. She attended Henrietta Barnett School in the Hampstead Garden Suburb, singing with the 12 voice Madrigal Choir for five years, and performing inDido and Aeneas and Hanzel and Gretal. She qualified as a Biomedical Scientist specializing in Biochemistry and Haematology, working in London and New Zealand. On returning to London, Margaret joined Brent Opera - performances included Eugene Onegin, Cavalleria Rustican and Pagliacci, Verdi's Macbeth, Nabucco and The Bartered Bride. Margaret came back to work in Abergavenny and joined Gwent Bach Society and Monmouth Choral Society. Was married in New Zealand and has one son. Her other interests are gardening, walking with her boxer dog called Brandy. |
