| Mary Williams
Mary came from Oxford to Abergavenny in 2000. She received voice training from the age of 17 years and sang with the 0xford Harmonic Society and the City of 0xford Choir (she founded the latter choir in 1977). She now sings also with the group ‘Accord' Her solo work has been extensive with choirs and brass bands at home (including Westminster Abbey) and abroad. She has been the conductor of a ladies choir and was often heard on BBC radio in Oxford. She has arranged numerous choral exchanges that have included the Zeist Mozart Festival in Holland and the National Garden Festival in Germany, and visits by choirs from America, Denmark, Germany, Holland and France. Professionally, Mary is a qualified Nursery Nurse and devoted much time to autism and to children with special needs. She was responsible for all the music at one school. Mary is married and has a son in Denbighshire and a daughter and two grandchildren in Cardiff. She is active in Inner Wheel having served as President of the local club for two years.
