I have been a member of GBS since 1969 when, as a young mother, Lloyd kindly rang me up at 11pm to ask if he could come round next morning to talk about joining GBS.

I was thrilled - and have been ever since. Lloyd was always a great support.

My musical background is undistinguished but has been greatly enriched by the variety of music that the choir has sung over the years. I still hope that we might tackle Vaughan William's War Requiem (version for small choir and orchestra) which I once heard performed in Bath and which left a lasting impression on me.

I run a local Care House, Penpergwm House and the choir has very kindly sung to our residents on numerous occasions, thereby sharing their enjoyment with others who have greatly appreciated it. My former business partner, David Filsell, also sings with GBS and, indeed, many ofthe original plans for starting up the Care Home were laid during coffee breaks at rehearsals!.
