A party from Abergavenny travelled to Aberdare to support the choir. Indefatigable John Owen y Fenni, Abergavenny's Freeman, heartened all the singers by sitting in the front row of the audience.
Later on, the choir was heard on the Welsh Home Service in a programme of recordings made of the day's proceedings .
